Nestled in the heart of Eight Mile Plains, The Manjok Korean Restaurant (더 만족) offers an authentic taste of Korean cuisine that delights both locals and visitors craving bold, comforting flavors. This petite yet welcoming spot specializes in traditional dishes crafted with care, showcasing the richness and depth of Korean culinary culture.
The menu, though modest in size, shines with standout options that have captured the hearts of many patrons. Signature dishes such as Galbi Jjim—a tender, melt-in-your-mouth braised beef short rib—receive rave reviews for their perfectly balanced flavors and sauce that lingers beautifully on the palate. The Jjamppong Bap, particularly the rare Baek Jjamppong Bap (White Jjamppong), surprises guests with its comforting seafood broth and generous bounty of fresh seafood, a delicate yet satisfying choice that’s become a memorable favourite. The menu also features enticing items like Odolppyeo Jumeokbap (rice balls) and the spicy, hearty Maewoon Jjimdak, offering variety for those seeking both familiar and adventurous tastes.
Fans of Korean fried chicken will be equally impressed; the Yesnal Tongdak (whole fried chicken) is praised for its crispy, golden exterior and juicy interior, making it an irresistible dish to share. Complementing the mains are delicious sides such as Kim Mari (seaweed rolls), Gun Mandu (fried dumplings), and crispy Gul Twigim (fried oysters), each expertly prepared and adding crunchy, flavorful contrasts to the meal.
The Manjok’s dining atmosphere is intimate and cozy, accommodating about 8 to 10 guests, creating a close-knit, almost family-style experience. While seating is limited—which makes takeaway a practical choice—it cultivates a warm and welcoming vibe where attentive service completes the experience. Patrons consistently highlight the friendly staff and the genuine effort from the chefs to prioritize quality over quantity, resulting in dishes that burst with authentic Korean tastes.
Every bite invites you to savor layers of flavor—from the sweet and savory notes of the galbi to the subtle spice and oceanic freshness in the jjamppong. This is a place where Korean comfort food is elevated through thoughtful preparation, leaving guests feeling satisfied and well cared for. For those seeking genuine Korean fare in Brisbane with dishes that pack a punch and the unbeatable charm of a hidden gem, The Manjok is truly a must-visit.
Reservation is recommended for seating, but the takeaway option ensures you don’t miss out on their spectacular food. Whether indulging in the sumptuous Jokbal (braised pig’s trotters) or enjoying a simple soda alongside your meal, The Manjok provides a memorable culinary experience that captures the essence of Korean homemade cooking with passion and finesse.

We love this place! I always order the Galbi Jim which is HEAVENLY. We also ordered the fried chicken which is so good to share and very tasteful! I love this place and would definitely recommend coming here. However, there are very limited places to sit (maximum 8 people), so it could be quite uncomfortable for the waiting or to take away.

Ordered the spicy braised beef short rib, traditional whole fried chicken, and the White Jjamppong (along with 2 bowls of white rice and rice balls (주먹밥)) for 4.5 people. We were very content with the portion size and everything was well cooked. My personal favourite was the white Jjamppong 불짬뽕밥, I've never come across it so that was a pleasant surprise! Despite the limited seating area, it is a busy place as many people were ordering takeaways! Highly recommend!

Tiny shop with only three tables, oriented on takeaway orders. Food is spectacular, jokbal is one of the best in Brisbane and galbi jim is very tender, flavorsome and packs a good punch. The whole fried chicken is a must-get, Korean chicken never tasted this good!

The Manjok - Contentment. And so I was! Cosy little restaurant that sits about max 10 people (squished up), so its quite intimate. I visited on a Thursday night and all the seats were consistently filled up. The service was very friendly and welcoming, the menu isnt large but I could tell the chef(s) put quality over quantity. I ordered the Galbi Jim and the fried squid. The layers of flavours in the Galbi Jim blew me away! The meat was very tender, the broth had incredible flavour depth to it and was packed with veggies. The squid was deep fried but the meat was still tender and juicy. Can't wait to try all the dishes on the menu, so so good! Highly recommend!

These types of restaurants offer the best kind of food in my opinion - quiet, tucked away and unassuming. Just smashing out amazing food without fanfare. The Jjamppong bap had great depth of flavour and they were very generous with the amount of seafood in the soup. Just super delicious. Tried the Kim Mari too - perfectly cooked inside with an amazing crunch outside. Service was great - quick and friendly. Keep doing what you're doing!
